The Artist Statement.

Reality sucks. There is something about living in the real world that makes being a simple organism such a complex being. We all like an escape. Some have art, some have film and others may have porn but the underlying theme is common, we are, at times discontent with the world we live in. When I was young I had a PSone. This decently sized box contained the hope that Pandora left after she let out all of the evils in the world. I would immerse myself in graphic worlds with graphic characters and enriching storylines. Fast-forward a couple of months to when a mishap with my “mechanical heart” broke. It was the first time I cried for something that seemed so meaningless, for something that to others, had no purpose or value. With all of the folly and wasted time associated with playing video games, I found meaning. I am interested in providing a portal for that meaning for other people, in any facet of media, whether it is in advertising, video games, film or public relations.
Sometimes we don’t understand each other as people but what media can provide is an outlet, an outlet for expression but most importantly a mode of escape. If a person can look at my work and smile, or cry or feel then I’ve done my job as a creative artist.
